Although the main focus of our business has been the agricultural market, in the last few years we have put our advice and services to use in other sectors. Horse sanctuaries, rugby clubs, golf courses & district councils have all been keen to maximise the potential of their soil.

Nutrient levels
Where grass, turf & landscaped ground are concerned it can be tempting to ‘throw’ on the usual treatment and hope for the best. Excessive levels of one nutrient can cause others to lock up. Sometimes a more deep seated prroblem can be the cause of poor growth. We can provide a number of soil and nutrient tests to pin point specific problems.

Lime & Fertiliser
Granular lime & smaller quantities of fertiliser can be supplied. Granular lime is available in bags and is ideal for smaller applications or where a maintenance dressing is required. (e.g golf courses, orchards & paddocks.) Organic & conventional fertilisers are also available in small quantities.

Compost
Ferteco compost has been used in its finest form (10mm down) on golf courses & amenity ground generally mixed with sand. 10mm – 25mm goes into landscaping for mulching and soil improving. 25mm – 40mm is generally sold for agricultural use to build organic matter levels. Anything above 40mm is classified as ‘oversize’ and tends to be used for land reclamation. Available in 50litre bags or lorry loads.

Topsoil
The topsoil that we sell is a high quality fertile soil with a very low stone content, friable and easy to handle. In the past this has been spread onto sports turf and used in various landscaping situations. Available in 20t loads.

Graded Limestone & Chalk
We regularly supply limestone for horse menage bases and similar applications in clean or graded loads. Raw chalk is also available which is ideal for cattle yards, muck pads and track & gateway maintainance.

Quicklime
Quicklime is a highly valuable commodity where soil stabilisation is required. Generally supplied to civil engineering projects where upon being mixed into wet soil conditions the quicklime heats up and dries the soil. Available in 1 tonne bags.
