LimeX70 is a liming bi product derived from the processing of sugar beet. As one of the largest independent suppliers of LimeX we are well placed to advise you on the benefits of using this material. Being a bi product it has the added benefit of some additional nutrient content in the way of 9kg/t of P2O5, 8kg/t of MgO & 7kg/t of SO3.
Environment Agency Guidance
Limex 70 is considered an organic manure as it is a by-product from the sugar extraction process and derived from organic matter.
Planned applications of Limex 70 should be integrated into a field specific nutrient management plan and applied in accordance with crop and soil needs. If there is no crop and soil need for the nutrients supplied through the application of Limex 70 an alternative liming material should be used.
With an NV (Neutralising Value) of 25% and a 30% moisture content Limex does require higher application rates than quarried lime products. The table below shows British Sugar’s suggested spreading rates for a variety of soil types.
