VRA Solution

Plan Ahead in 2010!!
Several of the farms that we spread lime for after harvest find that the early spring period is a good time to assess pH levels in the soil. This forward knowledge can help to identify problems in the growing crop, allow budgets to be accurately forecasted for post harvest applications and means that spreading operations can be carried out as soon as a field has been combined. This is particularly useful where OSR follows a wheat crop and cultivation operations are time sensitive. To arrange your early pH or PK testing contact us now.

P & K too expensive?
With prices of P & K having risen sharply in the last year there has never been a better time to make sure that your inputs are not wasted. Field sampling to determine levels of Phosphate, Potash and Magnesium is a simple but cost effective task. In 2009 we took considerably more P & K samples than in previous years. DIY Soil Testing
We now have new soil testing kits available to buy. These are based on BDH soil pH testing kits and come complete with 12 test tubes, soil indicator and a colour chart. The kits are a quick and accurate way to determine your own soil pH levels. Please contact us for more information.

Keith Mount marked up 50 years in the lime industry this year. Having started with the family business in 1958 there have been several changes in the last 5 decades.

Grand Designs
We were pleased to supply an eco house in the Cambridgeshire fens with quick lime for creating lime plaster as well as raw chalk for a driveway base. The project is featured on Grand Designs on Wed 2nd May 2007 at 9pm on Channel 4

Soil Testers - Now recruiting for 2 students based in Mid/South Norfolk and Mid Suffolk
During the busy harvest period we usually employ two students to help us with soil sampling throughout East Anglia. An agricultural background is helpful but not essential.
